Chaman competed in the YJC Western League in 2005 with Federico Fernandez and Antonio Maurer, and in 2006 in the Eastern League with Luciana Diniz.
Ludger Beerbaum won the RWE Prize of the North Rhine-Westphalia. The 49-year-old celebrated a clear victory in the jump-off with the 14-year-old stallion, Chaman in a time of 38.12 seconds, ahead of the US-American rider Laura Kraut with the 15-year-old Holsteiner gelding, Cedric, and Marcus Ehning with Plot Blue. Kraut’s time of 39.77 seconds was much slower than that of the winner. Ehning crossed the finish line in a time of 40.45 seconds.
“It wasn’t possible to beat Ludger today,” stated Marcus Ehning, who was visibly satisfied with his first podium placing at this year’s CHIO. Ehning: “It is a victory in itself sitting here next to Ludger and Laura.” Laura Kraut was also obviously delighted at coming second. “Cedric jumps a little to the right, so I had to take a couple of turns rather wide,” the winner of the Grand Prix in Wiesbaden commented.

Gurnee, IL, November 19 – Stephen Foran impressed the clinicians and judges during the USHJA Emerging Athletes National Training Session, presented by Dover Saddlery, November 15 through 18, and earned top honors riding IJF Graduate Allegience (ex. Etienne B, 2004 BWP g. Simsalabim x Concorde, bred in USA by Bannockburn Farm LLC)
After the Nations Cup concluded the final day, four riders were asked to contest the jump-off course as a final ride-off for the placings—Foran, Ana Forssell, Ashlyn Matheus and Katie Lynch. Each rider received an unfamiliar horse from among those in the pool and had a short warm-up before tackling the course, where they were judged on their skill, style, adaptability and promptness.
“I was incredibly impressed with virtually everything Stephen did in the ring and in the stable,” said show jumping Olympic gold medalist and lead clinician Peter Wylde. “He was a convincing winner from start to finish.”

Somis, CA – June 27, 2012 – Lisa Westin, owner and head trainer at Thunderstruck Farm in Somis, California, is leading the way in innovative thinking regarding the training and sales of young horses.
Westin started riding at the tender age of three and has over 20 years of show ring experience, including four years living and training in Europe. As a competitor, with backgrounds in hunters, jumpers, equitation and dressage, Westin is able to offer students a unique insight into the dynamics of the show ring.
Thunderstruck Farm at El Sueno
Since opening the doors to her business in 2003, Westin’s skill and knowledge brought in a broad base of clientele. Over the years she’s made a conscious choice to center her program on starting, training and developing young horses and also takes pride in her ability to retool problem horses.
Westin focuses on helping a horse find its best niche in the jumpers, hunter and equitation disciplines, and also works with dressage horses that may be ready to take the leap into the jumper ring and change careers. This led the training business to expand into sales and consignment. She feels time is of the essence – spending quality time.
